Shows Private posts when it should not

The display of posts in the series that shows within a post (using the plug-in’s default settings) contains links to all private posts when I’m not logged in to the site. As far as I understand private posts are only displayed to the appropriate logged in user. I did not find a setting to turn off the display of links to private posts. Is there one? If not I can’t use the display, and perhaps not even the plug in.
