    Dear friends/community:

First of all, I am SO THANKFUL there is a support forum of people who, out of the kindness of their hearts, actually dedicate their time and support to complete strangers on the net, without asking for anything in return!!

I wish I could be saying this in person to you all, whilst offering a platter of my mum’s homemade [SUPER DELICIOUS] korean cooking or the sort! ?? ?? ??

Okay, here’s the scoop. I’m a graphic designer/webdesigner. I’m making websites for clients right now (freelancing on weekends) and communicate with my clients via email to send up JPG versions of mockups, etc.

I don’t to be a support-hog or a help-vampire, so feel free to just copy and paste links to point me in the right direction!

I would like to utilize WordPress as a client-management/portfolio-management CMS solution where I can post proofs of mockups, assign individual usernames/password to my clients where they can log in, view it, post comments. I would also like to utilize WordPress as a Portfolio displayer, in which I can make posts containining newly finished projects (like 1 post = 1 newly finished graphic design project, labeled for example ‘fashion’ or ‘restaurant’, tagged with ‘logo’ or ‘website’).

Which plugins would allow me to do this? I’m sure there are THOUSANDS of graphic/webdesigners out there that use wordpress as their client management CMS, and I’d like to learn too ??

I would also like to tack on an invoicer-system, but I found that as well – Bamboo Invoice, an amazing source I’d like to share with you all and recommend to check out.

(At first I looked at Drupal/Joomla then quickly realized my site is much too small for this end)

THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!!!! merci/gracias/arigato/gamsahamnida!

That sounds like a great idea! I am doing something similar with my WordPress, only I am not worrying about having clients check in or out. I do that part over the email. The WordPress will help me show off finished projects and blog about the process.

Your client access features don’t sound like anything I’ve ever heard WordPress do before. I would be interested to see if this can be done! And if it cannot, perhaps something like Drupal could? It is more “CMS”-ified.

CrowChick, thanks for your input—– yes, you’re talking about the same concept that I’m thinking, only I would indeed like the extra checkin/out (though right now I’m just doing it over emails).

Hm, you’ve never heard WordPress doing anything of the sort?

THen perhaps it is the case I’m looking at the wrong CMS… I always had thought Drupal was something for people who needed 150+ pages… I could be wrong, I’m very new to the CMS field, really! ?? ??

I didn’t see anything in your original post that couldn’t be done with WP out of the box. What aspects are you thinking you might need plugins for?

WP has password protected posts, if you want to email each client their PW to access the post you made for them.

Or you can make the whole site “for registered users only”.

I would say, dive in and start the project with WP, and post again with specific requests when needed. ??
