Sick site where wp-admin does not load but wp-login does. Why?

  • Is this an indication of a sick site?

    Scenario 1 (under normal conditions): By calling https://www.mysite/wp-admin, it refreshes me to the login page or wp-login.php page

    Scenario 2 (the state of my current site): By calling https://www.mysite/wp-admin the browser just hangs and goes into an infinite load cycle trying to build the page. But when I call https://www.mysite/wp-login that I actually gets me to the login page.

    No changes have been made to my browser since observing and experiencing Scenario 2.
