Hi there. I’ve installed WP on dozens of sites and have never had this happen – the sidebar menu will not stay open. Every time I click on something, the menu collapses. So far I have:

    – cleared cache
    – cleared cookies on the site
    – tried 2 browsers
    – defaulted back to default theme
    – deleted all plugins
    – reinstalled the plugin folder

How do I make this issue disappear? Do I need to delete wordpress and reinstall?

  • That doesn’t sounds like a standard feature of WordPress… What theme are you using, and do you have a link to your site so we can see what’s happening there?

Currently, I’m not using any themes. Just the one that comes with a wordpress install.
The link is https://berks.happeningmag.com/ but what I am talking about is the sidebar menu in the back end.

    Ah OK, that is different.

I haven’t had a problem with that happening before. If there’s nothing on the site that’s going to be missed I’d suggest trying to re-install as it sounds like there’s something that’s not quite right there.

I deleted the WP install and reinstalled and the problem went away. Thankfully this was a new install!
