Side Menus – How to add

I using the latest Karma Theme available at Themeforrest and let me say I’M NEW TO WordPress. I’ve used Drupal for many years now and I have made the transition to WP because of the ease of modifications.

That being said…

I trying to add a custom menu to a side bar of a page and I can’t figure out what I doing wrong. I create a custom widget, then I assign my menu items to it, then in the page I want to the sidebar displayed I select the new side name under the sidebar tab and click update.
However, it doesn’t show up?
