Where is this filter by functionality coming from? Sounds like you may have a plugin issue.

Thank you for replying. The filter comes from a plugin called “Sermon Manager”. I have reached out to them, and this was their reply:
“In the Sermon Manager plugin you will find a folder called ‘views’ and in there you will see the archive php file among other’s. You can take a copy of this and put it into the root of your theme and modify it to add the appropriate divs etc so that it shows up right.”

Their suggestion is beyond my scope, and thus the reason for my reaching out here…

Sounds like a lot of work. Their recommendation also should say “put it into the root of your child theme.

As the Twenty Seventeen theme is a core WordPress theme, I think it wouldn’t be unreasonable to ask the authors for more thorough guidance. If you haven’t already, could you create a thread on that plugin’s support section: https://www.ads-software.com/support/plugin/sermon-manager-for-wordpress/#new-post

Thank you again, and I understand. I will attempt a thread on the plugin’s support section as you suggested.
