• OK so I’m thick.
    (Who said “yes”?)
I’ve got WordPress up and running, with three posts and even one comment left.
But now I need to put some links in the left sidebar.
    That is possible isn’t it?

But search as I might I can’t seem to find out how to put anything in the sidebars.
There’s a ‘sidebar’ button in the theme options, but all that seems to contain is CSS stuff.
In fact all I can find is CSS.
Do I have to edit a php file somewhere (no problem if so ‘cos I’ve got Coda)?

    I’m lost.
    Please help.

    Ron

  • If you’ve got a new theme, all you have to do is go to “appearance” and “widgets” and add the widgets you want in the sidebar. My guess is you want the widget “links” (“blogroll” is the old term) and fill those links under “settings” “links” (if I remember correctly).

    Thanks Gangleri,

Think I’ve got the idea now.
I did try the ‘Text’ category because it said ‘Arbitrary text or HTML’ but after putting the HTML in for a link (<a href=… etc) and saving it, all the posts appeared in the sidebar.
    Very strange.
But there’s a separate ‘Links’ menu item.

    All sorted.

    Thanks again.
