    Hi – I am using the Custom Sidebar plugin from WPMU DEV (Version 3.1.6) with the Kadence Virtue theme.

    For some reason, when I create a new sidebar and select it to appear from the page I want, it is not working correctly. It is pulling content from the first sidebar I created and not the content from the new sidebar I created and selected.

    Any ideas on what I need to do differently to make this work correctly?

    Thanks.

  • Hey @mvjohn,

    Hope you’re well.

    As far as I understand you are referring to https://www.kadencethemes.com/product/virtue-free-theme/ this theme right? I tried with it and latest Custom Sidebars plugin. But I can’t replicate the problem. When I change sidebar for a page it shows the correct sidebar.

    So maybe there is some kind of plugin conflict. Did you try deactivating all plugins and only try with Custom Sidebars? If it helps please activate plugins one by one until replicate the issue, and let me know which plugin conflicting.

    Cheers,

    Thanks Oguz. That is the theme I am using.

    I went through and deactivated all of the non-critical plugins (e.g., I left the plugins like BlueHost still active) and it did not correct the issue.

    Can you let me know how I should set the primary sidebar to be replaced?

    Any other ideas?

    Hey @mvjohn,

    Hope you’re well.

    First, you need to allow primary sidebar to replace and create new sidebar like this;

    Then go to any page to edit, change sidebar meta box settings;

    After these steps, it shows the custom sidebar on that page for me. Is it the regular page you tried? Or some custom pages like WooCommerce pages or any other plugin?

    Did you make any modification to the theme?

    Cheers,

    Thanks Oguz. The thing I changed that made it work is to change the page template from “Sidebar” to “Default” which made it work.

    Thanks again!

    John
