• I am using the Drunkey Love theme and on some pages the sidebar falls to the bottom. I searched for a solution and tried everything but nothing works. I thought maybe it was image related but when I remove the images the problem persists. It also happens on pages that don’t have images like here https://brownsista.com/gabrielle-hooks-up-with-eddie-murphy/ . I thought maybe the adverts in the sidebar were to blame but again when I removed them the sidebar is still at the bottom. I even installed a clean version of the theme with no luck. I am pretty much out of ideas now. If anyone has any idea how I can fix this problem please let me know.
    Thank you ??

  • I had this problem a while back. It happened after I wrote a post that had bad coding. Think back to the last post you wrote before the sidebar went down. Check it in code mode for any funky coding. remove the coding, or the post entirely (make it a draft). Let me know if it works.

I just started using the theme yesterday and noticed the down sidebar when viewing some past posts.I did a css validation thing and the only thing that comes up is non closed </img> tags.

Did you try fixing the tags? Also, it’s not necessarily css that’s doing it. Check the posts in code mode for anything out of the ordinary. Using the rich editor can produce weird code sometimes. That’s what fixed it for me.

You’ve got a missing div in there along with a number of other issues:

Here is something interesting I discovered. I went back and found that the majority of the posts with the fallen sidebar were posted March 28th and before. I then saw that March 28th. was exactly 21 days ago which matches the cutoff date for posting comments to topics. I am using a plugin that automatically closes posts after 21 days. I then discovered that only posts that are CLOSED and HAVE comments also have the fallen sidebar. To test this I took a closed post that had a fallen sidebar and 1 comment and I deleted that comment. The post no longer had the fallen sidebar. So I have found what is causing the problem but can’t fix it.Not even deactivating the plugin fixed the problem. Also closed posts with no comments have the words “Comments Closed” whereas closed posts with comments does not.

I have had the sidebar problem for a while and also don’t know how to fix it. Unfortunately my ex-bf was a copmuter science teacher and he was generous enough to set up my blog for me but I am quite hopelessly non-coder-savvy.

When I click thru the archives, the sidebar drops to the bottom starting with March 2007 but I’m pretty sure it did it before then.

    Can anyone help? please?? ??

    spicybroccoli,

I don’t know much about this stuff either (it’s a damn steep learning curve, isn’t it?), but I just had a quick look at your blog and it looks like your sidebar is being nested within the bit where the posts are displayed. I can confirm that it seems to start in the March archive, with previous months displaying correctly.

    bhoney,

your brownsista site looks like it’s displaying ok to me – both the April posts and older archive stuff. I’m using IE7.

Don’t know if any of that helps, but thought I’d let you know what I can see from here in the hope that it might help someone else figure out what’s going on.

@spicybrococoli. You must be joking. Never mind the archives the whole layout is borked. ??

    Thx somersetbob.

    borked! Oh no!

Any idea how I can unbork?

OMG now all my pix are jacked up too! I am going to make a big mess of this. I need to stop trying to fix it and get my grubby meathooks off.

If anyone can help U are a legend!
