    Hello,

I spent four days trying to find a theme that I like and tweak them according to my liking. Finally I found Aberration lite, started tweaking it and at long last felt pretty much satisfied – until I noticed that the “Sample page” does not have a sidebar and I can’t make it appear!

I have modified the theme’s CSS file, but nothing else. To make sure I had not messed up with anything, I installed Aberration also on my “test site”, and yeah, the sidebar was missing there too. Is this a feature? How can I correct it? The thing is, I’m not at all friends with php stuff…

My (unfinished) site is here: https://kulmakivi.com/

Greetings…I went to your site (thanks for the link) and see that your Sample Page is using the default page template which does have a right sidebar available.

With all of my themes, you get a set of Left and Right sidebar positions available. One set for blog based pages (blog home, full post, and archives like categories, tags, etc). Then the other set is for standard pages.

If you go to your widgets, you will notice the Blog Left Sidebar, Blog Right Sidebar, Page Left Sidebar, and the Page Right Sidebar positions. The blog sidebar positions will only show widgets on the blog based sections. However, if you want widgets to show on “pages” and not the blog areas, then you would use the Page sidebar positions.

I kept these separate because pages and blog pages are different from each other in websites. You can still drag blog widgets into the page sidebars if you want, such as recent posts, comments, etc.

    Wow, you were quick!

And of course. My wooden eye didn’t see that widget area, despite looking for it.

At times, when modifying the template, some of the widget areas don’t show in the modifier – like when I set the template in my test site, there was no “Blog right sidebar” available, until I went to widgets via the blog dashboard.

Thank you so much for help ??

No worries, I’m known for fast support. I am one that likes to help as fast as I can whenever possible ??

Regarding the widgets in the customizer, I am not a fan of what WordPress is doing with the customizer. The best way to manage widgets is in the dashboard.

But…what counts is that things are working for you now with the sidebar.

    Cheers!
    Andre
