I’ve finally got a site ready to go live, and it worked perfectly in Firefox. As an afterthought, i thought i’d try out Internet Explorer, and i find the sidebar is dropped to the bottom right side.

Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

    Thanks!

    I added 20px to the
.page (was no #page) and its given a nice left margin — looks good. the right margin is pushed out a bit.

Well start tweaking. Drop the width of the inner container. Add padding to the outer one. That way we are avoiding the dreaded IE Box model bork which is what all this is about.

I am tweaking. Could you clarify your terms “the inner container” vs the outer, just to make sure i got it right? Outer was content. Is inner .page or the .ncol?

    ncol in this case.

The alignment seems to be fine on the left — the sidebar is pushed out. Tweak after tweak seems to not pull it back in.

Nearly there. Just reduce #page width.

Ok — got that all aligned.

FYI, to have IE up, i reinserted the Java script. Interesting thing is the tweaks we did have fixed that up 98% of the way.

The only remaining problem is a drift in the text on IE only, the futher i scroll to the bottom. (i posted a separate topic on this… was not sure if you were done for the night and needed IE to at least be up since the site goes live tonight with a real web site name attached to the number static address. The change has been already ordered so there’s no going back!)

I don’t know if that helps with respect to why, absent the Java, IE is drawing up a blank even though the sourcecode says material is there.

It looks great. Not quite sitting flush because the footer is offset. If you get stuck post again.

Root — thanks for helping out. Does it seem worth knocking out that java code again? Do you think that will help with the allignment problem in IE??
