sidebar not showing in shop / product category page

firstly I want to say the theme is excellent. However I can not get the side bar to display in the shop page or the product category page. I know this must be possible as you offer pricing filter eidgets for these pages. I have tried editing the shop page to to “page with right sidebar” but this doesnt work.

Please help ??
