Sidebar Options

Since the sidebar is missing from the most recent update, could it be re-added in such a way to chose which sidebar method we want to use?
I would prefer to use the sidebars (L+R) that I have on all of my other pages. Can it be done so that we can chose to use the CMA or theme sidebars?
