Normally, once I’ve created a page in thew Virtue theme using the “Sidebar” template, below the window for editing the page appears a section in which I can select which sidebar should appear. Presently, that section has disappeared – I no longer have the option to select among sidebars, but am obliged only to use the default sidebar. I believe this change coincides with the latest WordPress update (4.9.8) – could there be a conflict? How can I get this option back?

Here’s the other page, on a site using a different theme, where the Draw Attention overlays stay mapped onto the image, even when reduced in size:

I am using various extensions. When I check “console” it notes no errors – however, the problem was magically resolved this morning, after I “inspected” the page…

Further update: just installed the latest Virtue theme update, and the problem returned… somewhat.

If I only NARROW the page but keep the window open from the top to the bottom of my screen (a long, skinny window), the problem recurs. If I narrow AND shorten the screen (or open the inspect panel at bottom, which has the effect of shoRtening the window showing the actual webpage)–in other words, if the aspect ratio is maintained–then the problem resolves.

I did some testing locally and I was not able to recreate. I then was further inspecting your page and I noticed the html is broken. Your footer is not fullwidth, it’s up inside the wrapper div. Can you check your child theme to see what you are overriding? It looks like just one closing div may be missing. Or just test with the parent theme?

    Ben

I bet this was not a problem before wordpress 4.9.8

Virtue, Ascend same problem Side bar only appears on posts not on pages or woocommerce. Should not be this complicated just to show a side bar or a slide either

This is a wordpress problem. I have live previewed virtue, ascend, maxstore and simple store. maxstore and simple store show the correct right sidebar in live preivew which vanishes on activation to a blank spot for the side bar or it just vanishes.

2014,2016 and other std wordpress themes do not seem to be affected. UMMM???

I am going to stick with my old themes that do not have this problem until it is fixed.
