    Hi

I have tried to get the answer to my problem before, but no one replied.

I have two sidebars on the right, when I add a subscription box script from aweber the second sidebar moves down the page and I do not understand why?

I want to add the subscribe box and have the sidebar remain at the top of the page.

    Any one have any ideas.

    Thanks

Do you mean like a floating sidebar that remains where it is while you’re scrolling down? I’d like that too!
As for your other question, if you have a widget sidebar, just look for a subscribe widget and put it where you want it.

Your page looks fine in Firefox, but I see the problem in IE: The Adsense starts after the far right sidebar ends. Most of the time when I’ve had this problem, it’s been an issue of a clear not working correctly in IE, but without seeing your CSS, it’s impossible to even begin.

    Hi Jo

Posting long code here doesn’t help.
If you need to post code – use a pastebin service like https://wordpress.pastebin.ca

And for helpers: install the FF dev toolbar and you can see the stylesheet, you can even modify it on the fly…

Ok thanks for that. I have pasted as advise and the link is here

To be honest, in 99.99% of the cases there is nothing wrong with the stylesheet.

You diagnosed exactly what your problem is:
when I add a subscription box script from aweber the second sidebar moves down the page and I do not understand why?

The “why” is because the new element (subscription box) is wider than the width of its container element. For ‘sinking’ sidebars that is ALWAYS the cause.

    Moshu

Thanks for explaining the cause, is there a fix for this please.

    Neil

    The only fix is:
    – make your sidebar wider
    or
    – make the box narrower

Thanks for all your help, even with my limted knowledge, I managed to do that. It is now fine.

    Cheers

Thanks for the FF toolbar tip. And new to the forums, I hadn’t realized there’s a pastebin.

I’m glad you were able to remedy your problem.

@moshu: I downloaded the Firefox Web Developer toolbar, and it’s awesome. Thanks again!

    Jo

Various themes has similar problem with the sidebar(s), when running under IE. The positions is Ok on the Firefox, but the sidebar(s) moves down(end of the page) when under IE.

I suggest you select a theme that don’t do it: Greed-Light, by Small Potatoe is fine. Try it!
