    Hi there,

I have a problem with similar sidebars replacing certain taxomonies.

As soon as I have more than one sidebar it shows the content of either all the sidebars that I’ve created for the taxomony or it shows twice. the latter happens when using the WP text widget. The first when using a Shortcode widget.

It doesn’t happen with other sidebar plug-ins. But I’d love to use yours.

    Why does that happen?

    Kindly,
    Andrea

    Thank you for reporting this.

You might be seing this problem if you have sidebars set up to be displayed for content in different taxonomies.

If a page contains 2 or more of those taxonomies, then all the corresponding sidebars will be displayed.

You can read more about it here, and how to resolve it with the Forced Replace action: https://dev.institute/docs/content-aware-sidebars/faq/what-is-the-difference-between-actions-replace-and-forced-replace/

Let me know if this fixes the problem.

    Hi Joachim,

    no, unfortunately not.

The problem appears for taxomony archive pages that are children of the same parent. So, say, I set up a sidebar for Category Aa, Ab and Ac and define different widgets for each. Then on the frontend it shows the content for Aa, Ab and Ac on the taxomony archive pages of Aa, Ab and Ac and even Ad, Ae etc. and the children of these. That’s not what I want.

I thought I could define an individual sidebar for Aa, Ab, Ac and so on that only shows the content I put into the widget of that sidebar. Isn’t this possible?

    Kindly, Andrea

Oh, however that happened. But it works now!

Great to hear that you got it working!

While it’s hard to say what caused it, the most probable reasons are either a cache issue or a custom database query that interfered with the conditions.
