    hi all –

after updating i have a bit of an odd and not really wanted feature:
my sidebar widget at troop324.de shows different upcoming events depending on what page i am on:

all pages except for the calendar page show some events in the summer of next year. these are not the next upcoming events.
on the calendar page it correctly shows veteran’s day and the correct next two upcoming events….

all worked fine this morning. changes made since: i updated to the latest wordpress version and the latest events calendar version.

any help would really be appreaciated, thank you, peter

In the first instance can you try deactivating all other plugins and reverting to a default, unmodified theme (such as Twenty Twelve) and see if that resolves things?

If it does, can you try reactivating everything one-component-at-a-time until the problem manifests itself again and make a note of what seems to cause it to return?

    Thanks!

    hi barry –

thank you for the reply and your suggestions on how to find the problem…
a quick dummies question before i start to deativate the plugins and reverting to a defualt theme: after having spent many days tweaking the page so it looks and works like i like it to, would i risk loosing any functionality (eg in the theme, as not all changes are made in a child theme…) when i do what you had suggested?

thank you for your patientence with the non IT folks like me ??

jp, changing the theme will change the look, etc. but it’s just for testing. Don’t delete the theme. I will say that best practices are to create a child theme. It’s not that difficult.

Barry’s suggestions are just a way to determine if there is a conflict that exists in your particular combination of theme and plugins.

    hi andy and barry –

i dared to do as described above and deactivated all plugins and changed the theme. and i did find what is causing the problem:
when i have the “The Events Calendar Category Colors” plugin deactivated, all works as before. well, minus the colors of course… when i reactivate it, the problem shows up again. so i have it deactivated for the moment.

hope that might help you to find the problem. thank you again for your time and efforts!

Wow, that’s strange. Can you create an issue over on the Category Colors forum referencing this thread. Also, make sure you are using the latest version of the Category Colors plugin.

jp, please confirm here that TEC Category Colors v3.1.2 fixes this.
