I have used the plugin for over a year and it has worked fine. I have used it to make a sidebar widget sticky. Until today, this text widget has contained a shortcode with HTML code for a banner ad served by my server.

Today, however, I replaced the code with some JS code from Amazon’s CPM Ads program. This code contains code for a banner ad delivered by Amazon AND code for a passback ad served by my server. When Amazon shows the passback ad, the widget is sticky. But when Amazon shows the Amazon CPM program ad, the widget is NOT sticky.

The only thing I’ve changed in this whole scenario is the code in the shortcode. I replaced the HTML I was using with JS from Amazon. Is there any way around this? Thanks.

  • I’m not entirely sure what the issue is — any chance you could share a link to your site so I can see it?

However, there are issues with elements that contain Javascript and the plugin. Since the plugin creates a copy/clone of the sticky element, the JS code will also be duplicated, and in your case it’s possible that Amazon isn’t clear in which widget it should show the ad (the original or the clone?)…so that may be the issue here.

You can look at the sidebar of any post on https://bebrainfit.com. However, while trying to resolve this issue, I have moved the Amazon up the sidebar. Instead of being at the bottom of the sidebar, it is now in the middle (third widget from the top).

The widget that is sticky is still the one at the bottom but it is served by a third-party ad network. In this case, the widget is sticky but displays differently than when I have a banner ad in the widget that is served by my server. The ad is not seen until after you have scrolled completely past the widget above, then it pops in. After that, the ad/widget sticks as you scroll to the bottom of the page.

When serving my own ad in this widget, you could see the ad come into view as you scrolled, then it would stick as you continued to scroll down the page.

Thanks for responding and let me know if I can help.

    Sorry for the delay.

I checked your site again, but I don’t see the sticky part at all. I do see that you configured the element “#text-247” to be sticky, but I don’t see that element anywhere. I did scroll down all the way but nothing seems to appear.

Am I looking at the wrong page?

The widget that is sticky is shown only on posts. See my previous email for details.

OK, I see it now, an Amazon Prime ad that appears in the right sidebar and becomes sticky, however, I do not see my plugin active on the page.

Did you find another sticky plugin that works better?

I am using a different plugin that allows the setup and functionality I want. The downside is that it has not been updated in two years. So we’ll see what the future brings. Thanks for responding!
