  • WordPress Widget Resources has links to how and where to get the Widget plugin.

    A) Install and enable the Widgets plugin.
    B) Make sure that your theme is widget-enabled. If not, look for an updated version of the theme.

I have the same problem. Since my Theme (Kubrick) supports widgets, I can′t understand why I cant see the widgets button?

There are two possible reasons that you do not see the Presentation->Sidebar Widgets menu:
    1. You have not activated the widgets plugin.
    2. Your theme does not support widgets.

These are the *only* two reasons you would not see the Presentation->Sidebar Widgets menu. If you know you activated the widgets plugin, then you have been misled about what your theme actually supports.

I am new on WP. I downloaded and installed “Sidebar Widgets”, followed the readme info, and then activated it, but I can not see a “Sidebar Widgets” item in the Presentation menu. I keep get ting a Broken Themes message “The following themes are installed but incomplete. Themes must have a stylesheet and a template.”

    The WordPress versions 2.1.2

    Help please

    Thanks a lot

Same problem as above– I just downloaded WP 2.1.2, installed without a hitch. Downloaded, installed widgets 1.2.1 and activated through plugins panel. Says it’s active, but no button or menu option under presentation, and no idea why.

Ha, I guess the bundled-with Kubrick doesn’t support Widgets out of the box, despite what the codex says.

I am using MOMENT as my theme. Same problem, too. There isn’t “sidebar widget” link in the presentation tab. What should I do?

    Thanks!

There is another possibility. If one of your plugins incorrectly includes “wp-includes/widgets.php” directly, the widgets link will not show up in your administrative menu. I found this out through trial and error while trying to develop my own widget-enabled plugin.
