• I have been working on converting a template (ID Bands) to my blog’s style, and everything was going great until an hour ago, when I attempted to edit the sidebar.php file in the theme editor – when I clicked the “Update File” button, the sidebar.php page went blank. Everything gone. I attempted to re-upload a fresh copy, and the moment I went to edit that file, the same thing happened!

I deleted the entire theme and re-uploaded it from scratch, and it seemed to be working fine. I had changed the sidebar.php file a few times, and then the last time I did, blammo, it dissapeared again.

Next I tried using a totally different template, and the same thing happened. Now I am terrified of spending any time working on a sidebar lest the thing dissapear on me again. Any suggestions?
my site is https://www.doomsdaylaser.com and I have been using the Preview Theme plugin to edit new themes…oh, and I have wordpress 1.5
    Thank you.

Not really, your problem is unique. But, if you upgrade to v1.5.1.3 and the problem still occurs, then we can safely say that this is not an out-dated version issue. Plus, you get to plug all of those security holes that have, by now, become public knowledge.
