  • Hey there,

I think you simply need to “Allow a sidebar to be replaced” in the widgets screen.
There’s a great video tutorial explaining how to setup the custom sidebars plugin; when you click the link you will be taken to the relevant part of the video:

HOORAY! finally an answer to a question that WORKS! Many thanks.

My main aim with this plugin is to create custom sidebars as the name of the plugin states.

I am building a multiple directory website so have different pages for cars, property, jobs etc. I want a custom sidebar for each directory, so one sidebar for cars, one for property and one for jobs. In each sidebar I want the latest listing results displayed for each of these categories. The widget for latest listings in each sidebar gives the options for displaying the latest listings per my request.

However, each time I update this widget in a custom sidebar it is duplicated in all the other sidebars. So if I update the ‘Latest Cars Listings’ onto that particular sidebar, it then also overrides the latest listings in Property and Jobs.

Quite frustrating really! Is this because I do not have pro?
