• Just another way of adding Asides in your blog. Sample can be found here. The number of posts displayed in the main content is not affected by the number posted in the Aside category as opposed to using Matt Mullenweg’s approach.

    Plugin page can be found here.

    I tried your plugin and it is just what I have been looking for … for a long long time, thanx ??

    After coming back to this page after you announced I was expecting some comments, but oddly none.

    I have tried many of the plugins and hacks that say they will do what this plugin does but they never work for me. Always seems you need a higher knowledge of PHP that I dont have or they are for particular themes only, it seems.

    Great work! It was simple to load and simple to use.

    Only thing Id add is the ability to create title links and use of tags.

    thx again

    @allotherplaces:
    I’m working on making it better. Your suggestions are noted. Thanks.

    Do you know if there is any way to add comments to the sideblog using this plugin? I’ve installed it and it works perfectly, but readers cant comment on the entries. Thanks!

    I just downloaded this the other day and really love it. I was thinking something along the lines of what allotherplaces was saying… use of title links… or being able to post just an excerpt of the entry and link it to the full entry. And what OrchidRed mentioned about a comments link would be great too! Thanks so much for this! ??

    Just wondering. If the “sideblog” posts would behave like the normal posts (i.e. title link = permalink; excerpt; comments) how would they be different from a usual blogpost? And why to use this plugin in that case?

    This MiniPost plugin created a sideblog with comments enabled: https://doocy.net/mini-posts/

    Sideblog do have commenting enabled. https://katesgasis.com/2005/10/24/sideblog/

    anyone know how i can change the format of the date from something like this (2006-07-25 16:19:36) to something like this (7/25)?

    thanks.

    Using this plugin, is there an easy way for the “aside” category to be excluded from the index page?

    I ended up using the code at rhymedCode for a miniblog and it works perfectly.
