Hello,

So far I have been using Google Analytics for Woocommerce but several days ago after some updates it stopped firing hits. So I decided to install Site Kit on my site.

The registration went ok and it appeared on my WP Dashboard but now I cannot log in as it takes me back after giving permission.

A Healtch check on the site shos some seemingly API related problems:

Hi @svrakata, thanks for opening a support topic. I’d be happy to help you with this. To understand the situation in more details, please can you share the following:
1. Have you recently performed a site migration, changed your domain or changed your WP admin path?
2. Do you encounter the same loop when following the troubleshooting steps here?
3. What is the callback URL that you land back on after you have been looped back?
Any recordings you can share would also help us with this. Let me know if you have any questions on the above.

Hi Adam,

Thanks for trying to help out…
1. No I haven’t done any of these… Recently I only changed my PHP version of the site up from 7.2 to 8.0…
2. I tried signing in in Troubleshooting mode but it is the same.

3. I start at https://lodkata.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=googlesitekit-splash

After I give consent and try to login with my Google account I am redirected here:

https://lodkata.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=googlesitekit-splash&notification=authentication_success

But the screen is the same and I again have the two buttons: Sign in with Google and Reset.

@svrakata Thanks for sharing the information and sorry to hear that you are still facing this issue. I can see you have shared some site health information for Site Kit but could I also ask you to share the full?Site Health information. You can?use this form?to share privately if preferred.??

It looks like you could be using a security plugin that alters your WP login page which may be causing this issue. I can run some further checks if you share the information above.

@svrakata Thank you for sharing the information. It’s possible that there is a conflict at play here causing this. Please could you try the following:
1. Go to this URL which will create a temporary test WordPress site with Site Kit pre-installed.
2. Set up Site Kit and check if you encounter any of the same issues.
3. Add the other plugins you have installed on your website one by one checking Site Kit each time to see if the same issue happens.
You can also try disabling each plugin on your website one by one to see if the issue remains. If you’re still running into the issue let me know and we can continue to troubleshoot this further.

I will also perform some tests on my side to see if I can replicate the issue. If I have any updates I will post them here.

OK, I tried to setup the Site Kit on the test WP and it worked. I started to install some of the plugins I use and so far no issue…

Then I disabled ALL the plugins on my website safe from Site Kit and it still wouldn’t sign in… Strange!

@svrakata Thank you for trying the steps. Could I please ask you to try performing a Site Kit reset on your website when all other plugins are disabled. Could you then setup Site Kit once more and confirm if you see the same issues?

@svrakata I have requested a check on your records on the service to see if there is a mismatch that we can reset to allow you to complete the setup. This may take a little while for me to get an update on this but once I have one I will post it back here.

@svrakata Thanks for your patience while we checked your records. The record was found but unfortunately we couldn’t see a clear mismatch. I can see that you have used the redirection plugin on your site.

Have you tried disabling this plugin and trying once more? What amendments have you made using the redirection plugin on your site?

If you have changed your wp-admin path could you revert back to the original path and try setup once more in Site Kit?

Hi Adam,

Thank you for the efforts.

I tried disabling all plugins including Redirections and it makes no change.

Actually another person developped the theme of the site (based on Storefront) for us and he put the plugin. As far as I get it automatically creates redirecrions when a post URL changes so that there are no 301 errors. I will paste below a smple of the redirects listed in its settings. There is an option to export all of them as csv or json… But it doesn’t have any redirect or change of the wp-admin path.

@svrakata Thansk for sharing the added information and for your patience with this while we try to find you a solution. Could I please ask you to check your permalinks which you can find by going to Settings > Permalinks.

Could you let me know what permalink structure you are using on your site and could you also try resetting these. You can do this by switching the structure to something else, saving the changes and switching back to your original structure and saving once more.

This will reset the permalinks and may help with your issue. Please let me know how you get on with this.

The Permalink structure is https://lodkata.com/sample-post/ . I tried swithching to https://lodkata.com/?p=123 and back but no success…

@svrakata Thanks for trying this. Could you please try the below steps which may allow you to proceed with the setup:
1. Visit your site settings (Settings > General).
2. Change your site address (URL) and WordPress address (URL) from?https://lodkata.com/?to?https://www.lodkata.com/?(adding a www prefix).
3. Press the save button.
4. Attempt Site Kit setup once more after logging back into your site.
Let me know how you get on after attempting the above. If you are able to proceed, you can perform the reverse of the above, to ensure your site is no longer using the www prefix. Site Kit will recognize this as a URL change, so you will need to set up the plugin once more.

Hi Adam,

I added the www prefix and tried to setup SiteKit again. At first it had some problem with cache but after I flushed it went to the end but again fails to sign in and redirects back to:
