• Hello,

I have a Sign Up page for new members available at https://riverpodcast.com/register/. However, I just had a potential customer point out that the page is not showing up as encrypted and they refused to enter their credit card (and rightfully so).

I have the Security Encryption Key set under the s2Member General Options but am not sure what else needs to be done? I am using a PayPal Merchant account (PayPal Pro) to process payments.

    Thank you for your assistance,
    ~Kent

  • That Security Encryption Key is not for payments. It’s for protecting the content of your site.

What you need is an SSL certificate. That’s nothing to do with s2Member. You need to ask your host (who will probably charge you).

So using PayPal Pro isn’t enough? For some reason I was thinking that would encrypt the information that was sent to PayPal when they clicked the button.

Are you using a form or a button?

If you just use a button, then all payment details are entered on PayPal’s site, and they handle the SSL stuff.

But if you use an s2member Pro form, then some details are being entered while on your site, so you need an SSL certificate.
