I created a page called Signup – put signup shortcode here

Created page called Record – put record shortcode there

Made sure Record was selected in Record Form Settings

All I get is a blue button, when I click on the button I do get an email

But it has my admin edit link, not the link to edit the record

    I am lost

  • hi @fosterclt
In in field admin management menu, you have un column call “signup”. Did you made sure that you checked this column for the fields that you wanted to appear in the signup page ?

I dont understand where the “Admin Management menu” is.

Do you mean under Settings, and Signup Form Settings?

    Hi

No, it’s under “manage database field” <== I’m translating my installation because I have it in french. It is the menu where you manage the database fields

I figured out what you meant, same thing.

Dont remember seeing this in the Set Up guide though

    ooook, have everything working now:)

but it will not send an email to the person who registered, just to the admin

for the email, there is a checkbox in the “settings” menu, “signup tuning” (still trying to translate from french here ?? ) . The checkbox says if you want to send the notification email to the person who signup.

    Hope it helped

I believe that is if they make any changes. The record page should show automatically, there is no option not to show it

I am now trying to send test emails to see if going through, they are not

    Appreciate your help !

I am not sure what you are trying to do.
I believe the behaviour you want is that when a user signup, s.he receive an email with the edit link. Is that correct ?

If yes, normally in the setting menu, signup tab there is a checkbox stating if you want the user to receive that email. You can also specify the content of the email. Make sure you inserted “[record_link]” in the content so that the user receive the edit link.

Can you tell me if you saw the checkbox I am talking about ?

    Correct

    Send Signup Response Email
    checked

    Participant Record Page
Record (page) where record shortcode is

    (@fosterclt)

    Installed WP Mail SMTP

the emails I entered in signup all come back ok

    OK, I guess it’s working now ?
If yes, that is great (you may update the issue status to resolved if that is ok for you ?? )

    Bye ??

    (@fosterclt)

    negative

It is not sending the record email with private edit link

But it is sending email to admin with admin edit link

    Ok

There is 2 checkboxes, 1 to send the email to the user and 1 to send the email to the admin. Can you check again you checked the one to send the email to the user (or you can check both to test)

Send Signup Response Email (Checked) Send a receipt email to people who sign up

Send Signup Notification Email (Checked) Send an email notification that a signup has occurred.

tried 2 emails, checked Spam folder

    That is somehow weird.
I just did a test myself and it’s is working here.

I would have thought of an smtp configuration issue but you’re saying that the admin email is sent. So I guess it is not an smtp configuration issue

You could maybe install the “email tracker” plugin to see if the email is somehow sent anyway.

I may be out of ideas … sorry
