    Hi Mor10,
    1. Are there any upgrades to Simone yet? I am a beginner and finding it annoying that the header image (when used without header text) has white space at each end. Also is it possible to change the nav bar to a different colour? Currently training on Lynda and wld like to be able to customise Simone a little bit more however I have no code knowledge yet being a designer not a developer. More wp training modules soon wld be xclnt.

    2. I followed Lynda contact form module but it seems you now have to sign up to wp.com in order to access the contact form within Jetpack with its latest version. Is that correct?

    Thank you kindly

  • You can change the navbar to whatever color you want by editing the stylesheet file of the theme. I already did it for my portfolio website based on My Simone.

@moosefactory You can change the nav bar background color by adding new styles in a child theme to override the rules from line 387 onwards. Keep in mind you have to cover :hover and :focus states as well and that the menu goes three levels deep.

As for Jetack, more and more features require a WordPress.com account.

    Hi,
I am working on a wordpress site right now using the simone theme, and I was wondering if anyone knew how to change the page colours from white to say beige.
    Please advise when you can.

    Thanks

    Hi Mor10,
Thanks for your advice. I am enjoying learning using Simone theme. I hope you will have time to do new wp courses.
Just now I am trying to locate the correct code to make the background of the rectangular central title box virtually transparent with rounded corners. I have changed the hsla and the opacity in 2 places where the title box is listed but it doesn’t change despite refresh. Also which code for the corners, there are a lot of borders listed…

    Thank you, not urgent.
