• This is my reviewed review ?? 5/5.

I’ve been using the plugin for nearly 2 years. It has been consistently simple to use, uncomplicated and does a great job of sending out newsletters as lessons, future letters, etc. They call it Autoresponder.

The support you get is OUTSTANDING !! for something that is FREE!

  • Hello!

Concerning the stats, they can indeed be imprecise, but that isn’t a Wysija only issue.

More on stats here and what to make of them: https://www.wysija.com/good-open-rate-percentage-know-your-newsletter-stats/

    Hello Shariefs,

    Thanks for your feedbacks,

1.Resend the same message won’t be a complex task to do I believe, but we’re afraid of the way you guys might use it. When you say Re-send you mean resend to the same people you’ve sent it too already? If so that might be not such a good idea for your server’s reputation (appearing on some blacklists could be the reward).

2.Would you care to explain that part? Why do you say this is not working ? Our newsletter stats work with levels. What does it mean?

    1. Level -2 “Failed Send” – Your sending method was not able to send the email
    2. Level -1 “Bounced” – Email has bounced back to you (Only available in premium)
    3. Level 0 “Not Opened” – we’ve sent the newsletter to a subscriber
    4. Level 1 “Opened” – The subscriber display the images in his email client
    5. Level 2 “Clicked” – The subscriber clicked any link in the newsletter
    6. Level 3 “Unsubscribed” – The subscriber clicked the unsubscribed link

When you’ve just sent an email, the email start with either level -2 failure to send or level 0 Not Opened.
Then as the subscriber receives the email and takes actions we will change his level based on his action. And he can only belong to one level.(think of someone going up some stairs)

We know for a fact that a subscriber who clicked a link in a newsletter has opened it too, so instead of counting him has opened and then has clicked we just count him as clicked making our pie chart more accurate, giving a real percentage of status based on the real total of subscribers.

Same if a a user clicked on the unsubscribed link, why would we count him as clicked and also as opened? In the end the important action he took is unsubscribe. So we don’t want to count statistics which don’t make sense regarding that subscriber. Sure it would make our charts look nicer, more clicks more open, but then we would be lying to ourselves ??

3.Are you talking about a scheduling option in the standard newsletters ? If so we already have that :

Please comment on these if I missed the point! ??

    Hello Ben

Firstly, I’m impressed with the quick and personal feedback.

    1. I didn’t understand the stats properly. Thanks for clarifying that. I refreshed the stats just now and it did show a change. But I noticed that it takes a while to reflect on my side.

    2. Perhaps not a good idea to resend same newsletter.

    3. What I would like to do tho is create a series of a particular newsletters. What I’m in the process of doing is create a class whereby members can subscribe and weekly received the notes. So it doesn’t matter when the join, they will start from lesson 1 and weekly receive the next lesson till lesson 40. Can you guys do something like that?

    Hey Sharief,

1.regarding the stats it is not instantaneous on the listing of the newsletter, though if you open the stats page of one newsletter that should show every live stats.

    3. Sure you can do that we call it autoresponder, actually it’s an automatic newsletter you setup in the first step of the newsletter creation. Create simply one newsletter per lesson and that will work just fine.
    Watch that video : https://www.wysija.com/autoresponder-wordpress/

We recently corrected one thing in Wysija, now the autoresponders newsletters are retro active, meaning that each time you create a new newsletter for a list it will send the newsletter to all of the people from that list, not only the newly subscribed ones.

Anyway try it out you’re gonna love it ??

    Hi Ben

I created the automatic newsletter just today. spent the last 2 hours modifying and making sure it was right.

Problem is, I created 3 newsletters set to deliver 1 week after the other. The first one I got as scheduled, the 2nd 30 minutes later and 3rd one 5 minutes after the 2nd. ????

    Why is that happening

Sharief, each autoresponder needs to be set on a delay according to the event.

    For example:

    1. Send first autoresponder 1 week after
    2. ” 2 weeks after
    3. ” 3 weeks after

Is that how you set it up?

    (@shariefs)

Hi. Yes, that is how i set it up.

    Lesson 1. Immedaitely
    Lesson2. 1 week after
    Lesson 3. 2 weeks after
    Etc…

Sharief, get in touch with us on support.wysija.com and we’ll happily help you from there.
