    None of the gallery options meet my needs.

    I want a single gallery embedded, not thumbnails. First picture as wide as the content well. Click on it, lightbox opens and you click through the gallery.

    You would think single thumbnail gallery would do that, but the only thing I get when I click on the image is a direct link to that image, no lightbox, can’t get to the rests of the photos.

    How do I get what I want?

    The single thumbnail gallery only works in conjunction with a lightbox. If you have FooBox installed too, and FooBox is selected as your lightbox under the gallery settings, then that will work. Your theme might also have a lightbox built in, and that can be used to show your images.
