Simple Longform Widget doesn’t align correctly

I tried out the Simple Longform plugin in a new project of mine. It looks very promising indeed, however the widget seems to deliver unnecessary line feeds (empty lines) above and beyond it. If I use the widget as one of several parallel footer widgets, its headline appears one line deeper than those of the other widgets. If I use the Simple Longform widget in one of the sidebars, it also inserts unnecessary free lines above and beyond it. Since there is no option to configure that behaviour, I presume that these additional empty lines / line feeds are hardcoded in the source code. Would it be possible to remove these extra “spacers” to get the widget work in visual harmony with any other widgets?
