Simple Page Sidebars – how to use?

I am working on a local development site. I installed Simple Page Sidebars. I created a test page to check this plugin. I am using the twenty twelve theme.

My site is not a blog. From my testing it seems that a page must use the “Default Template”. Is that correct?

The Default Template for 2012 theme has the side bar on the left. It seems that the Simple Page Sidebars plugin does not allow for this location to be changed. Is that correct?

I can not have more than one sidebar. Is that correct?

The description contains the following:

Simple Page Sidebars also ships with a “Widget Area” widget for pulling all the widgets from one sidebar into another.

So, how is this used?
