• Since 2007 I’ve been using Simple Tagging/Tags and was always happy with its functionality. Thanks for this. But with your new “update” you ruined all your work. You removed the most popular functions such as “related posts” without template placeholders. This resulted in thousands of broken blogs around the world that use your plugin and auto-updated their installation. How many of them are still broken?

You fixed that quite late, but all the nice functions of Simple Tags seem to be gone forever as you don’t want to support them any longer.

I’m no rocket scientist so like most of us I also use the auto update for my plugins without studying changelogs etc. Doing so, my whole site broke as everywhere php errors occured. I didn’t notice that first as I’m caching my site. But one by one, newly cached pages showed only 50% of their content – until the php error message. I saw from my stats that something’s wrong and so I could find the errors. You fixed that after the weekend, but for me this resulted in loss of money and rankings.

I don’t want to sound rude and I know you do the support for free resp. scarce donations. I do know this business. But this does not justify what you have done with this “update”.

If you did nothing at all and just left the plugin as is, it would have been much better – and no work for you at all.

Simple Tags was a very popular WordPress plugin. I don’t understand why you ruined it. It will also ruin your own reputation, Amaury. I’ll have to remove Simple Tags from all my blogs and networks.

If you don’t want to support it anymore, maybe transfer it to someone else of the WP community?
