Simple URL problem for new articles & posts

I have tried to solve the problem by moving WP from root to a subdirectory

Yes,

I did follow that guide (Method II), but the problem remained.

I’m at a loss what to do currently.

Figured it out on my own, here’s for future reference:

Settings > Permalinks > Custom structure: /blog/%postname%/

Now my articles & posts will display as https://example.org/blog/new-article instead of https://example.org/new-article

Spent hours trying to figure out something you could do with one click. Well, lesson learned.
