Simple, usable, works reliably, but…

  • This is the best EU VAT plugin I’ve found so far. Integrates nicely with WooCommerce checkout fields. Has useful user feedback, sensible and easy to understand configuration options.

    The only downside is that the free version does not include the option to not charge VAT for same country businesses, which is the biggest plus to using such a plugin to begin with. For me, this additional feature was worth the Pro version, but it leaves the free version only someofwhat viable.

    It would be great if the plugin could also extract the country prefix from the selected country, and for VAT numbers that don’t include a country prefix, try to validate it with the extracted prefix for those users that don’t understand to input their country prefix.

    Thanks for the feedback – the plugin is new, so any feedback is highly appreciated.

    I’ve just updated plugin to new version 1.1.0, where I’ve added “Allow VAT number input without country code” option (to both free and Pro versions) (in plugin’s “General” settings section), which I believe will do exactly what you’ve described. Please let me know if it’s not working correctly.

    Hey Tom,

    perfect, this works. In case anybody else is wondering how to update the Pro version from WP Factory, since this is not entirely obvious: Click your order download link again and the zip will be contain the updated version.

    Again, the ease of use and options are great. 4 stars still for the free version despite being very nice to use, since the restriction seriously impedes the usefulness — from my point of view the Pro version is worth it.
