Simple “X Visitors Online” plugin or script?

  • I’ve been looking through the support pages for a while now, but everything related seems to be way to advanced as to what I need.

    I’m trying to find a simple way to display how many users are currently online. I need the info to show up on my header.php – and that’s about it; not need to be able to click on the number to get ip information or anything fancy, just…”X visitors online”….that’s it.

    Has anyone had any experience with something like that? If so, I would love to hear about it.

    I’m about to install it myself. It seems to be close to what you need.

    Okay, I installed it and everything works fine except: (1) checking the forums out suggests there are some stability issues with it. It works fine for me, except that it puts a bunch of warning messages on the stats page (although they don’t stop it doing its job). (2) My fix (since, like you, I don’t really want stats but just the numbers was to change the code in my sidebar to <p align="center"><?php get_useronline(); ?></p>. That is, delete the link to the stats page. Now I just get the numbers like you were after.

    The lesterchan plugin doesn’t work over here..
