SimplePie in wp-includes folder – have I been hacked?

  • Actually, I do know my site was hacked a few days ago and in doing a comparison of my local version of the site and the live version, I see the addition of a folder called SimplePie in the wp-includes folder on the live site that isn’t on my local copy, so I don’t know how it got there. I know there is a SimplePie plugin, but I don’t use it. Is this the result of the site being hacked or does this folder belong there?
