simplexml_load_file(): I/O warning

You tube comments was working fine but then it stopped and now I’m getting the following error message instead:

Fatal error: Call to a member function children() on a non-object in /public_html/wp-content/plugins/youtube-comments/class-comments.php on line 291
Any ideas on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated. I have triple checked my Google permissions and they seem to be correct, they have also not changed since the comments were working.
