• Hello,

I would like to simplify the page where I show the list and show only one search field. I don’t like the fact that the user has to choose in which field he wants to search.

    Is this possible somehow?

    Thanking you guys in advance,

    Ben

Yes, you can use the search_fields attribute in the list shortcode…for example:

    [pdb_list search=true search_fields="city"]

If you have only one search field, the dropdown selector doesn’t appear.

Hum, but this is not possible either, because I want the search to be made in all the database.

Is it possible possible not to show the dropdown menu and search in all fields at the same time ?

Oh, I see. You’ll need to get the Combo Multisearch Add-On to do something like that.

Hi, Thanks for the awesome plugin.
I’m new to this. I hava a question on [pdb-search], When i search in that using some id, it will redirect to the single record. How can i do that without touching the core files?

    Thanks in advance.

Take a look at this, it explains how to set up a special template for the list shortcode that shows a single record as it’s result.

By the way, it’s best to post a new question to a new topic…it’s more helpful to others that way.

Thanks for the quick reply.. and how can i add placeholder in search box?

I’m new to this, don’t know how to open new tickets.

You can open a new topic by going to the bottom of the main list of topics for Participants Database, there is a form for asking a question there.

to answer your question about the placeholder, it’s not simple, you need to use a custom template and replace the default search field with a customized one.

You could also purchase the Combo Multisearch add-on, which does have a placeholder in the search box.
