    Hello,

We have a WooCommerce shop with several hundred categories, subcategories, and sub-subcategories: https://kitcenter.ro/shop/

Since the entire hierarchy of categories/subcategories/sub-subcategories is always open, it is very difficult when creating new categories to perform drag and drop, hundreds of rows to move it to the final position.

Is there a module that can open subcategories in the admin panel only on click, or another module/solution that can simplify the work of setting the order of categories, for shops with hundreds of categories

    Thank you!

    Hi @weblikero,

Can you share more details, please? Do you mean rearranging the categories in the front end (like on your sidebar here in the screenshot), or the back end or where?

    Hello,

Rearreging in backend first level categories tree is very difficult if you have many categories because the entire hierarchy of categories/subcategories/sub-subcategories is always open, by default.

    >> In prestashop you can only see level one categories by default, and this makes it easy to rearrange them by dragging (To see subcategories you have to click on the level one category, to enter and see/rearrange subcategories): https://ibb.co/X4CRmm8

    >> In woocommerce all categories/subcategries tree is open by default (with no option to close it) and this makes it very hard to rearrange by drag and drop is you have a large number of categories/subcategories/subsubcategories: https://ibb.co/hsFXRNW

    Thanks

    Hello weblikero

Thank you for your reply and clarification.

The WordPress dashboard is designed to show all the Categories and the Sub Categories in a list.
There is no option available to expand or collapse the list as you have shown in an example from Prestashop.

You may use the search feature to show a limited number of categories based on the entered keyword.
But still, the structure will remain in the list format.

If you like, you may submit a Feature Request at our portal.
This will help our devs to determine what features are expected so they can work on it.

    I hope this helps. ??

    Best regards.
