    Why on earth this is not in core is beyond me!

    A MUST have for any serious WordPress website builder. There are so many plugins which require the ID of a post or page to use in a shortcode, for example. Try to explain to a novice client hovering over the page/post title to reveal the ID in the lower left of the browser ??

    Simple. Effective.
