Hi, shelnook. I’m sorry to hear that the plugin won’t activate for you. I am happy to implement any necessary patches to get it working if you can share what the specific errors are that you’re receiving upon activation?

I suspect that you’re getting a “500 Internal Server Error”, which is likely caused by the activation script running longer than the PHP max_execution_time (default 30) limit. I am working on a different method of activating and initializing the plugin that will break up the process into multiple small steps and bypass this limitation. I hope to have the update tested and released within a couple days.

The National Weather Service Alerts plugin has been updated to 1.1.1 and the activation process has been completely re-written. The new process should bypass max_execution_time limits and work well on all web hosts. It’s been tested on several different web hosts and activated (and was fully installed) properly on all.

Please let me know if you are able to now install, activate, and setup the NWS Alerts plugin. If so, please mark this support topic as resolved.

Well… the new version allows me to install it at least..

Setup is pretty basic..

Installed again on my primary site.. and a production test site that has nothing else installed on it..

Once again.. failed. Data Error. Didn’t matte which site i put it on.. Data Error.

..Still holding out hope..

Without specific errors I can’t know with certainty what is causing the problem, but I do know that some web hosts disallow loading external xml feeds using the method employed in the plugin. I’m aware of this limitation and am planning to fix this in the next release, which will hopefully be within a week. I truly appreciate your patience and the feedback that you’ve provided.

Hi, again, shelnook. I’ve released version 1.2.0 and it uses a different default method for fetching the alerts data. So long as your server environments have the cURL module installed then the plugin should now work for you. Please update to the latest version and let me know if it’s now working.
