I installed this plugin just for testing. Initially I installed it on a localhost and tried to connect it with a simple facebook page, I continuously got the same error from facebook for the api integration, probably something related to permissions (just to clarify, I didn’t reach in any step of allowing permissions).

Then I installed it on an online site and managed to do the integration with facebook successfully. However the plugin’s settings page shows blank; it shows the “uh-oh..chatbot setup incomplete” banner, it shows a button “logout wp-chatbot” and then two more lines “Connect to your Facebook page” “This is the page that will receive messages from your website visitors.” THat’s it, rest blank.

I then created an account on app.mobilemonkey.com which allows ONLY facebook accounts ( I don’t have one) and allowed all the required permissions requested by the app, for the facebook pages in discussion. Now after every login here it redirects me to one page where it tells me “Looks like you don’t have any Facebook pages.”

I tried to talk to the bot without any success.
    I checked the documentation.

I would next like to know if this is how this plugin is supposed to work. Or rather say: is this plugin working at all? Because it promises so much in the description but within my limited experience I faced 4 consecutive issues without even being able to make it start.

    Hi, @d4wp
    To answer your questions:

    1. Having a Facebook account and Facebook business page is a must. Basically bot is connected to the Facebook page, while a website chat plugin is just another way your visitor may be attracted.

    2. Granting ALL the requestion permissions is a must. If any is missing bot won’t be working. To regrant them follow the steps from the video https://1drv.ms/v/s!Ap7X86zsP4ughAjBF2mgYl5YeQyi

    3. “uh-oh..chatbot setup incomplete” banner is shown only when a page is not connected. Once the page is connected the settings become available.

    4. If you created a new account, check if you have any Business Page. “Looks like you don’t have any Facebook pages.” means that this is account doesn’t have any page.
Create one by following the link https://www.facebook.com/pages/creation/.
    Check FB docs here https://www.facebook.com/business/help/461775097570076?id=939256796236247

So to summarize, for the chat plugin to work sufficient permissions should be granted to the app and page should be connected.

    1. I have a Facebook account and page for the business I want to use this plugin. I don’t have a personal Facebook account, but nevermind.

    2. I granted all the permissions like I mentioned in the initial post

    3. I understand that something is wrong, but I did complete the integration with the account and with the page. This is what I’m reporting.

    4. Again, there is a Facebook business page connected, which was integrated earlier. I need this plugin to work for an existing business page; in the first step I tried to use it with a test account, but in the second step I integrated the real business page and I got this. I did this a couple of times by removing the integration from facebook as described in the documentation, but I got the same result.
