Since WP Upgrade, 'No Results'

    Since upgrading to WP 4.5 and 4.5.1, the AJAX Search Lite plugin has stopped working on my site. Whenever any keyword (that used to work) is typed in, I get the ubiquitous “No Results” error message. I have disabled the ‘Use custom AJAX handler’ option, as well as the ‘Load JavaScript in site Footer’ option, and still have not had any luck. I updated the AJAX Search Lite to the latest version, and still had the same problem. I reverted back to the previous version to ensure it wasn’t the update that killed it, and the issue is still persistent in the older version of AJAX Search Lite.

    The only thing I can see potentially causing the issue is the WP Core update. If you have any suggestions or would like me to try something, I would be more than happy to do whatever needs to be done!

    Hi!

    Thank you for the detailed description!

    First, I suggest updating the plugin to the latest version. It’s much better to debug and should work much better than the previous ones.

    After updating try these steps:

    1. Make sure to save the search options without changing anything to make sure everything is refresh. Do that on the Compatibility Settings plugin submenu page as well.

    2. Do a few (5-10) search queries for single words, for which you expect results to be returned.

    If still no results then:
    3. Go to the Help & Support plugin sub-menu, there is a debug data window, which contains an encoded string of the latest executed search queries and the settings. Under that window there is a brief description how you can share that with me without copy-pasting the unneccesary long code here.

    I will then check the search queries and the configuration for possible errors, and hopefully find the problem ??
