single event page title still says “Events”

    The way I see it you’re using the infinite theme, which hasn’t been updated in almost 3 years: https://www.ads-software.com/themes/infinite/. It might also be that you bought the newer infinite theme, but I can’t support paying themes …
    The theme is responsible for the page title (it needs to call the wordpress function the_title() while being “in the loop”) and EME then changes that title to the one of the event. See the basic WP theme twentythirteen for a typical wp theme example (look at twentythirteen/page.php)
    Now in this case that doesn’t seem to be working (due to the theme not doing what is supposed to be done), but maybe you can hide the title for that page and use your singe event format to show the event title.
