    Solved. I somehow missed this section of the User Manual: Theme Template Setup. Uploaded “single-epl_event.php” to my site and all is well.
    Will upload the remainder of these excellent template files.

    Again, I reiterate, after going through a number of events plugins, this one is intuitive, well thought-out, user friendly and a joy to use. Thank you very much for creating this gem.
