Single footer across width of page

  • I have five logos that I want to place across the footer of my twenty ten themed webpage. I modified the #footer-widget-area .widget-area width which was originally specified as 220px to 100%. Then I simply put the image code for all five images into the first footer. Worked like a charm in Firefox but all of the widgets are crammed together some on top of each other in Internet Explorer… shocking, I know. It seems that for some reason specifying the width doesn’t work in IE. I even tried specifying a width of 880px but got the same result. Any help resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

    Unfortunately, without a link to your site, it’s difficult to pinpoint what the issue might be. I would suggesting using the Developer Tools in Internet Explorer to analyze your site’s CSS. Much like using Firebug with Firefox, the Developer Tools in IE will allow you to make test changes to CSS which you can then carry over to your live style sheet.

    Hi Christi,

    I am not really familiar with the Developer Tools in IE and embarassingly, I have not used them. I will take a look at them forthwith. In the meantime, the site that I am having the trouble with is https://www.JohnFDini.com. Thanks for taking a look!

    Hi clb,

    I’m happy to help. I took a look at that site in several browsers (Internet Explorer 9, Firefox, Chrome, and even Safari) and the footer appears the same in all browsers for me. What version of Internet Explorer are you using to view the site? This could be due to an incompatibility with an older version of that browser.
