  • Caron,

Your site is appending some a strange string after the URL when it loads. I’m seeing:

    ciderpressreview.com/cpr-volume-17-2/disorderly-abecedarian-3-blasphemy/#.VwAWZBMrIqI

That’s really odd and made me think your site might be hacked. I’ve run it through a few scanners (Sucuri.net & URLQuery.net) and they’re not reporting a hack.

Certainly, something odd is happening, so to rule out the themes or plugins, have you tried:

    • deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
    • switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

Normally, if this happened, I’d recommend looking at your theme and seeing which files it contains. Is there a single.php or singular.php? How about category.php and archive.php? You mentioned no changes to the theme, so I’m guessing that’s not it.

Have you rebuilt permalinks? If not, go to Settings > Permalinks and click Save.

Your site is appending some a strange string after the URL when it loads.

That’s probably being added by the Add This plugin that the OP is using (it appends strings just like that in order to track shares).

Yes, the tagging string is from AddThis, and has been harmless for years.
I’ve tried the plugin deactivate/activate thing (twice) and also re-uploaded clean WP files and clean theme files. No joy!

I’ve checked that the PHP version on the server is the recommended version, and is the same as other of my sites running a similar theme and functioning normally.

The theme is a child theme of Twenty-Fourteen, which does have a clean single.php file, so I’m still a bit stumped. ANy other ideas, or suggestions for code changes to single.php that might bring back full posts?

do you have any edited content.php in your child theme?

does the problem continue of you temporarily deativate all pluings?
