Single post shows as blank page.

  • Greetings wordpress comunity,

    the problem I am stuck with is the following, as the title says the single post page shows blank. Inspecting the code I can see the rests of the header that is incomplete followed by an empty body tag.

    What totaly confuses me about this is the fact that I dont have this problem on the local server (WAMP), it only happens on the working site.
    The list of all the blog entries works fine on both servers, but the moment I want to access the entry itself (ex. with “see more..” button) I get blank page on the live server.

    I have tried to reupload all the related files, access the post with the “shortlink” and checked other solutions that I found on the internet related to permalinks, but so far nothing seems to work or fix this issue.

  • It sounds like you might be getting a PHP error on the page and the server is set to log errors, thus the blank page instead of the error being output.

    Take a look in your public HTML folder (usually /public_html on Apache servers) to see if there is a file called “error_log” and, if so, download it and open it in a text editor. If you find one, the PHP error(s) should point you in the right direction.

    thanks a lot for your reply. Did what you told me, the “error_log” pointed to one of the files of qTranslate plugin. Searching for more information on the error found the next topic.

    It is a good start, but unfortunately the solution offered in there does not work. There is still a conflict between WordPress SEO plugin and qTranslate for blog entries.

    Just to close this topic I avoided the problem removing WordPress SEO plugin and using another instead.

    Hi,
    I’m having a similar issue – but there’s nothing in the error log.
    I start the post and add text and several images (14 images). I publish it and go to the page and it’s empty.
    I removed all of the images, republished and the post was correct on the website. I put in *some* images and republished and the post becomes empty after adding 5-6 images to the post. I tried adding all of the images as a gallery and that worked. But the thing is, I have other posts that have this many images and I’ve not had this problem – just this one post.
    Would it be something to do with the php limit?? Or am I way off base?
