Single post split between two columns?

I am trying to incorporate an entry from wordpress onto a homepage for a static site. What I’d like to do bring in a single post with an image and split it between 2 columns. Here is a picture of the desired look.

I already have most of it worked out I just can’t find a way to split the post’s text in half and put each piece in a separate div. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
