Single Posts linking to excluded categories and excluded posts on Next Previus l

  • I have the Simply Exclude options set so that there is only one category of posts checked to include in my Blog. On this category all SE options are checked (archive, feeds, front/home, etc.). That works fine on the archive page, but, when I go to the single posts, the next/previous links are linking to posts that are in excluded categories. Why is this happening? I do not have any other options set in SE – everything else is the default settings.

    If I go into Edit Posts and click on the Simply Exclude options to exclude an individual Post, it has no effect.

    I am using a premium theme, but I tried changing the theme to twenty-thirteen. No change – same thing happened.

    On another site I set up in 2011 I had the same problem with SE. On that site I ended up modifying single.php with an if/else statement to only include the category I wanted. But I really don’t want to do that this time, this is obviously something that should work out of the box with this plugin.

    I tried both Main Loop Only and All Loops – no change. Can you help?

    The Simply-Exclude plugin is not really designed to work on the single.php template. The plugin was designed to exclude category items from the archive, feed, home, etc. I’ll need to look at hooking into the WP logic which grabs the prev/next single items.
