Size of single image does not seem to change when set in the customizer. https://www.screencast.com/t/7v6urKYjiS

This site uses the DIVI theme and the image is smaller than displayed but is being stretched to fit area. Not using the divi builder on this page but just the default divi theme.

  • The size setting in customizer controls the size of the image sent from the server to the user’s browser, not the size at which it is displayed.

Once the image reaches the browser, the browser will resize it to fit the space that has been made available by the stylesheets.

Ideally, one would find out what size the images are being displayed at, then set the image size in customizer to be the same. This way, images will not be stretched, and page load speed will not be adversely affected by sending images that are larger than needed. Some themes may do all this automatically.

To alter the size at which images are displayed, some custom css would be needed.
